Qordashi Monastery of the Four Winds
Massive city/monastery that was the heart of the ancient Gods of the Four Winds religion, serving as the political and theological center of the wide-spread and popular faith.
It was home to 13,000-15,000 people at any given time, not counting pilgrims and tourists who visited. It was divided into four quadrants (wards) of roughly equal size, each dedicated to one of the Four Winds gods. Each ward had its own personality and terrain, based on where it was on the mountain and which god it served. Each ward was overseen by a doyen superior, the highest ecclesiastical authority in that ward and only answerable to the Supreme Superior, who lived in the center of the monastery (at the palace known as The Conjunction).
All members were known as nuns, who were the active community members.
The monastery also served as a university and was well known for its many ancient libraries scattered throughout the wards. It was home to vast number of priceless treasures, both of learning and of art (many of which were lost after The Destruction).
